OUR PURPOSE

Family owned since 1952, Luther Automotive is driven to serve!  Making a difference in the communities we serve has always been one of our highest priorities and we are driven to serve by providing quality, good paying jobs, supporting local charities and volunteering our time.

We are grateful and proud to help our communities.

We All Share the Road

BASIC NEEDS

Basic needs have always figured high on our list of priorities, and we are pleased to support many community partners who focus on hunger and homelessness.

In addition to supporting the traditional food shelf model, we work with Every Meal, a non-profit organization, to distribute ready-to-eat foods to school children and ensure that they are not going to school hungry. We support the Fare For All program at The Food Group, allowing families to maximize their food budget with a low-cost, mobile grocery purchase program.

We are so pleased to support Simpson Housing Services and Catholic Charities. Simpson Housing Services, is successfully placing people experiencing homelessness into apartments and homes while working on building a new homeless shelter. Catholic Charities, is housing an average of 1,300 Minnesotans every night and although we don’t know all of the stories or how much work it will take to get them stably housed, we do know that they need a place to sleep for the night.

Charitable Organizations

Addiction Recovery

We believe that it is essential for effective treatment programs to be available when people ask for help. We have been long time supporters of the Minnesota Adult and Teen Challenge and other organizations as they do the daily work to help people make the difficult choices to go from addiction to recovery.

Job Readiness

An important component of stability is job readiness, and reliable transportation is one of the biggest hurdles to finding and keeping a good job. We support The Lift Garage, a non-profit aimed to move people out of poverty and homelessness by providing low-cost car repair, and free pre-purchase car inspections for low-income families.

We also enthusiastically support many automotive training programs throughout our state at the post-secondary and high school levels.  Tech Trac, our student sponsorship program, assists students with the financial barriers of completing their education in automotive fields. The newly launched Luther Technical Training Center provides students with a no-cost education in an ASC-Certified program that allows students to earn while they learn.

Environmental Responsibility

Luther Automotive is not just passionate about cars; we are also committed to the environment and sustainability. We’re proud to be the largest solar-friendly auto dealer in the state of Minnesota. Recently, we exceeded 1 megawatt in total solar capacity!

We identified solar energy as a way we could decrease our carbon footprint by supplying clean energy back to the power grid. Our environmental focus continues even when the sun doesn’t shine as our dealerships annually recycle over 250,000 gallons of used oil, more than 100,000 oil filters and large amounts of antifreeze, batteries, tires and sheet metal.

When new sustainable technologies are rolled out, we have invested time into training our sales staff, factory trained service advisors, and our manufacturer certified technicians on how to work with and communicate these new environmentally friendly features to our guests. So, whether you are focused on getting a more fuel efficient vehicle, switching to an Electric Car or Electric Truck or finding a Plug-in Hybrid vehicle, Luther Automotive is ready to partner with you.
